Dancin' to the swingin' sounds of CBC newsmagazines

I have always enjoyed dancing to the opening sounds of CBC Radio One's As It Happens. It's just got that sound, you know? But lately I've been getting a little jiggy with the theme to The Current. I find it's good in the morning, when I'm lying in bed thinking about getting up - it gives me a little jolt.

Then I started wondering - which one would I choose if I had to take only one show to a desert island? Would it be the jolty, jerky movements I do that sort of remind me of the African Anteater Ritual (extra points if you name that reference) in the morning, or the sultry, almost slutty groove I get while making dinner? I don't think I could decide. How do you feel about it?

Which theme music is better: As It Happens, or The Current?

Comments:
As a little footnote, I can't seem to make that giant space between the text and the poll disappear. Sorry, I guess I'm just not enough of an A/V nerd...

My vote goes for As it Happens, simply because every time I hear it I'm taken back to my family's kitchen as we're clearing up the dinner dishes and I'm praying there will be a snowstorm and school will be cancelled.

I absolutely vote for the As It Happens theme! I spent my high school dinner times grumbling about having to listen to CBC. When I went away to university and finally found CBC Radio one night just as the AIH theme was playing, it was like coming home. Since then, I've had few dinners without AIH. So, in short, it wins hands-down for reasons of nostalgia.

You'll always be enough of a A/V nerd for me. And this is such a tough call. One is great morning dancing the other is great dinner dancing. It is a tough call.

I can't believe that nobody even tried to answer this. "The African Anteater Ritual" is from CAN'T BUY ME LOVE. Our hero Wassisname realizes that he has to take the girl to a dance, but he can't dance, so he memorizes moves from what he thinks is AMERICAN BANDSTAND on TV, but turns out to be a NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC special. When he goes into his moves, the cool kids think he's avant-garde, but the nerds cry in unison, "The African Anteater Ritual!"
