Waiting for judgement day...

So the government will vote on the budget in about an hour. After that, we'll know if we're going to the polls again this summer. Should we punish the Liberals for their ineptitude and corruption, or should we wait for the results of Gomery and then pass judgement?

Myself, I think it's better to ask questions first, shoot later. Canadian politics, however, seems to be a bit short-sighted and reactionary most of the time. I have no doubt that the Liberals have been involved in some shady dealings, but shouldn't we wait until the real judge has figured that out?

In the meantime, maybe it's better to force an election today. As it stands, the Liberals might have a fighting chance if they don't have the completed Gomery report to deal with as they might in the fall. Not that I'm a Liberal supporter, and especially not a Martin supporter, but sometimes you have to do whatever you can to keep the likes of Harper away.

The wolves are at the door...
